Adam Spitznagel, Jr

Adam G. Spitznagel, Jr., 71, of Rostraver Township, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Friday, September 11, 2015, surrounded by his loving family.
Born July 30, 1944, he was the son of the late Adam and Florence (Seneca) Spitznagel.
Adam was the deeply beloved husband of Marlane (Auth), to whom he was married for over 44 years; the loving father of Julie (Eric) Zubovic, Michael (Jill) Spitznagel and Adam (Tiffany) Spitznagel; cherished grandfather of Blake, Ava and Mia Zubovic, Haley and Ryan Spitznagel and Brooke and Alexa Spitznagel; brother of John (Susan) Spitznagel and Doris Marsilio; son-in-law of Julia and late Regis Auth; brother-in-law of Peggy (Jerry) Pellegrini and Rickey Auth; and uncle to Tiffany, Jamie, Bethany, Jane, Anna, Martin and Mark.
Adam was a veteran of the United States Army. He graduated from Point Park University with a B.S. in Accounting and furthered his education with a Master's in Business Administration from Duquesne University. He went on to have a successful career of 45 years at Curtiss Wright (formally Westinghouse) serving as the Chief Financial Officer. Adam was a member of The Church of St. Anne where he volunteered much of his time. There was nothing more important to Adam than his family. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends, golfing, fishing, travel, and working at home in his yard. Adam loved playing sports and watching all of the Pittsburgh sports teams.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Belle Vernon/Rostraver Township (724-929-7934) www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com where a Blessing Service will be held 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in the Church of St. Anne, Rostraver Township with Rev. Vincent J. Gigliotti as celebrant. A private interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
Adams family would also like to express their sincerest thanks to his Oncologist David Friedland and his nurse Rachel as well as the Oncology Nursing Staff at Hillman Cancer Center, Shadyside for their outstanding care, compassion and support during this fight. Also a special thank you to Denise and Jessica from MVH Oncology.
