Betty Matty

Betty Jean Matty, 75, of Lake Ridge, VA died Tuesday, June 21, 2016. Born in Charleroi on October 19, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Betty Jean (Hughes) Laughland.
Jean was a Speech Clinician at East Allegheny Intermediate Unit as well as other schools in the area.
She is survived by her sons, Jeffrey T. (Carol) Matty of Cranberry, Douglas M. (Dea) Matty of Fort Meade, MD and Greg R. Matty and fianc, Jaime of Irwin; 7 grandchildren; and sister, Janet (Robert) Eckels of Rostraver Township.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas C. Matty.
Friends will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Belle Vernon/Rostraver Township (724-929-7934) www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com where a Blessing Service will be held on Saturday at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. in St. Basil the Great Russian Orthodox Church, 1449 Ridge Road Belle Vernon, PA 15012 with the Rev. Father Dionysi Vitali officiating. Interment will follow in West Newton Cemetery.
A Panachida Service will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
