Charles Menestrina

Charles L. Menestrina, 88, of Rostraver Township died Tuesday, March 1, 2016 in AHN Jefferson Hospital. Born in Meriden, CT on May 26, 1927, he was the son of the late Secondo Menestrina and Mary (Pittigher) Menestrina Gasperini.
Chuck was an equipment fabricator for Lee Norse Mining Equipment, where he retired after 42 years. He was a member of the Church of St. Anne, where he was an usher and janitor for many years and was also a member of the American Legion and Slavik Club in Charleroi. He liked playing cards and enjoyed hunting. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Susan (Zielinsky) Menestrina; sisters, Della Keruskin and Louise (Al) Royak; nieces and nephews, Patricia (Brad) Benkoski, Terry (Dannette) Royak, Brian Keruskin and Lori Mendicino; and step children, Helen, Susie, Rudy, Joe, John and Andy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Bruna Keyock; and brother-in-law, Alex Keruskin.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Belle Vernon/Rostraver Township (724-929-7934) www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com where a Blessing Service will be held on Friday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in the Church of St. Anne with Rev. Vincent J. Gigliotti as celebrant. Interment, with Military honors, will follow in Mon Valley Memorial Park.
