Clare A. Chatlak, 78, of Belle Vernon, passed away at home on Thursday, October 29, 2015. Born in Monessen on August 13, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Mary (Adamchik) Tkachik.
A homemaker, Clare was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Belle Vernon. She was the organist at the former St. Anthony's Church in Monessen. Clare loved spending time with her family and her dogs.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, John M. (Nancy) Chatlak of Wheeling, West Virginia; three daughters, Kimberly (Andrew) Garnic of Rostraver Township (with whom she made her home), Karen (Wayne) Martell of Quinton, Virginia and Lisa Chatlak (Fiance` Charles) of Masontown; 3 grandchildren, Christopher Martell, Savannah Clare Martell and Braxton M. Stedman; two sisters, Dorothy Bitonti Wissen of Rostraver Township and Kathleen Tkachik-McCarthy of Pittsburgh.
In addition to her parents, Clare was preceded in death by her former husband, John M. Chatlak.
Friends will be received 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Belle Vernon/Rostraver Township (724-929-7934) www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com where a Blessing service will be held 9:15 a.m. Monday followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Belle Vernon with Rev. Msgr. Roger A. Statnick as celebrant. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery in Monessen.
