Denise Michelle Gfell

Denise Michelle Gfell, 64, of West Newton, died Thursday, November 11, 2021. Born in Pittsburgh on November 23, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Hopkins Jr. and Audrey (Gephart) Hopkins.
As a resident of Penfield Township for over 20 years, Denise was a graduate of Tiffin University, where she received her BA in accounting. She was a foster parent and an avid community volunteer, coaching baseball and acting as a Girl Scout leader. She was an avid crafter who sold her work at craft shows and she always loved to decorate for holidays, especially Halloween! She also really enjoyed fishing, kayaking and shooting pool.
She is survived by her children, Nicholas (Sara) Beckloff, Mackenzie Gfell and Kia Gfell; grandchildren, Jacob Whitson and Maddalyn Beckloff; sister, Kim (Fred) Lindauer; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Joshua Gfell; and sisters, Tami Kohne and Melissa Brown.
