Donald Wesley Brooks

Donald Wesley Brooks, 73, of West Newton died Tuesday, January 30, 2024. Born in Charleroi on August 19, 1950, he was the son of the late James E. and Charlotte W. (Berg) Brooks.

Donald was a truck driver for Old Dominion Freight. Donald was a loving and devoted husband of 54 years, and a loving and caring father and grandfather.  He honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Gay (Opfar) Brooks; sons, Shawn (Shea) Brooks and Jody (Lisa) Brooks; grandchildren, Phelan, Jackson, Eva, Isiah, Ezra, Berea, Darius, Logan and Madison; brother-in-law, Keith (Lora) Sadler and sister-in-law, Elaine (Frank) Doric.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his baby daughter, Kimberly Brooks; baby granddaughter, Miah Brooks; and sister, Susan Sadler.

Friends will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township (724-929-7934) www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com where a Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor John Manon officiating. Military Honor's will be conducted by the U.S. Navy following the Funeral Service.
