Donald E. Tuomi

Donald E. Tuomi, 90, of Rostraver Township, died Sunday, November 5, 2017 in Mon Valley Hospital. Born in Fairhope on October 4, 1927, he was the son of the late Eino and Helen (Randall) Tuomi.
Donald was a Union Carpenter and worked for the United Brotherhood of Carpenters Local 142. He loved to learn and took many classes even in his later years. He enjoyed the horse races, dog races, and working on his computer. He was an avid reader and served in the U.S. Army during world War II .
He is survived by his sons, Donald E. (Linda) Tuomi Jr. of Rostraver, William E. (Constance) Tuomi of Clarksville, PA and Gary L. Tuomi of Middletown, Connecticut; grandchildren, Michelle (Eric) Deutsch and Aaron (Dana) Tuomi, all of Rostraver; great grandchildren, Claire and Lea Tuomi; brother, David W. (Joanne) Tuomi of Rostraver; sister, Irene Zapp of West Newton.
In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret C. Tuomi on October 16, 2011.
Friends will be received on Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m. in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Belle Vernon/Rostraver Township (724-929-7934) www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com where a Funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Kent Lighthall officiating. Interment, with Military Honors, will follow in Fells Cemetery.
