Edward M. Kerestes, 70, of Rostraver Township, died Friday, June 2, 2017 in AHN Jefferson Hospital. Born in New Eagle on March 6, 1947, he was the son of the late Michael T. and Barbara C. (Ulakovic) Kerestes.
Ed retired from the purchasing/consulting field. He and his wife owned and operated Mary Ann's Cards and Gifts in Rostraver Shopping Center for 12 years. He was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church, a life-member of Rostraver Lions Club and member of the National DeSoto Club. Ed loved working on his cars, caring for his lawn and going to the casino. He served his country in the U.S. Army Reserves.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann (Acklin) Kerestes; son, Edward R. (Monica) Kerestes of Fayette City; daughter, Victoria L. Kerestes of Pittsburgh; step daughter, Chrissy (Bob) Meese of Fayette City; grandchildren, Bella and Colt Kerestes; sisters, Barbara Martin of Peters Twp. and Suzanne (Jay) Mohney of Charleroi; his nephews; and special furry friends, Elmer, Henry J. and Hoakie.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Karen (Puleo) Kerestes; and sister, Kathy Jane Kerestes.
Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m. in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Belle Vernon/Rostraver Township (724-929-7934) www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com where a Blessing Service will be held Wednesday at 11:45 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:30 p.m. in St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 801 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon, with Rev. Msgr. Roger A. Statnick as celebrant. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Carroll Township.
