Frederick C. Metz Sr.

Frederick C. Metz, Sr., 88, of Rostraver Township, died Thursday, January 2, 2025 on hospice in AHN Jefferson Hospital. Born in Monongahela on July 10, 1936, he was the son of the late James and Marian (Little) Metz. 

Fred was a truck driver and loved driving his truck! He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He had a sense of humor, and he always knew how to make everyone in the room laugh. He enjoyed traveling with his wife after retirement. 

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Shirley A. (Cross) Metz; children, Charles (Maria) Metz of Rostraver, Cheryl (Brian) Mazanetz of VA and Fred C. Metz Jr. of Smithton; grandchildren, Jamie (Ray) Grimes, Brittany (Andy) Rolfes, Brianna Mazanetz, Jesselyn (Joe) Ucman, Clinton (Tiffany) Metz; great grandchildren, Ethan Conley, Lilly Metz, Theodore Metz, Frederick Metz, Joseph Ucman Jr., Rory Rolfes and Greyson Rolfes.

 At Fred’s request, there will be no public visitation or services.
