Howard A. ''Pete'' Behanna, 94, of Forward Township, died Sunday, January 12, 2020. Born in Black Diamond/Monongahela on November 18, 1925, he was the son of the late Howard J. and Mary Caroline (Hauser) Behanna.
Pete was the Fire Marshall and worked at the Bettis Atomic Power Lab in West Mifflin. He was a member of Ella Hollow Bible Church, and was a volunteer for the Forward Twp. Fire Dept. for many years. Pete was very proud of his garden and was known as the "50 cent vegetable man" by the many folks who purchased his vegetables. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his son, Kenneth H. Behanna and his wife, Robin Gaydos-Behanna; daughter, Mari Ulicny and her husband, Paul Ulicny; grandchildren, Kassandra Behanna, Robert Behanna, Stormy Gaydos and Dusty Gaydos; sister, Norma Kohut; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary (Sedon) Behanna in 2010; brother, William Behanna; and sister Faye Hobaugh.
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township (724-929-7934) www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com where a Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Salem Cemetery.
