Jack L. French, 87, passed away Wednesday evening, May 13, 2015 in his Rostraver Township home. Born February 10, 1928, Jack is the son of the late Samuel and Minnie (Buckrop) French.
Jack is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Delores. He is also survived by his three children, Mary Jo, Laurie (husband, Jim Lehr) and Jack (wife, Dana Panepinto); and was blessed with 2 cherished granddaughters, Jordan and Natalie French.
Jack was preceded in death by his sister, May; and brothers, Will, Don, Gustave, and John.
Employed with Columbia Gas for over 30 years, Jack served in the U.S. Marine Corp, graduated from WVU and soon after, took work with the U.S. Forest Service.
Among community activities, Jack was a long time member of Christ Lutheran Church in Charleroi and the Mon Valley Leathernecks.
Family and friends will be received 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Belle Vernon/Rostraver Township (724-929-7934) www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com where a Blessing Service will be held 10:15 a.m. Monday followed by an 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service in the Christ Lutheran Church, 601 Washington Avenue, Charleroi with Rev. Allen R. Riethmiller officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery.
The Mon Valley Leathernecks will conduct a service in the funeral home Sunday at 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Christ Lutheran Church.
