James Kenneth Ludwig, 69, of Belle Vernon died Tuesday, November 10, 2015 in UPMC Shadyside Hospital. Born in Pittsburgh on October 23, 1946, he was the son of the late Raymond C. and Helen (Thompson) Ludwig.
Jim retired from the Pennsylvania State store. He was a member of the American Legion, Russian Club and the VFW. He was a long-time patron of Barb's in Webster and loved gardening, fishing and driving his tractor. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his sons, Douglas A. Ludwig of Aliquippa and Kevin A. Ludwig of Belle Vernon; sisters, Barbara Zurosky of Belle Vernon and Mary Jane Ludwig and Clive Reed of Smithton; niece, Lindsay Joyce; and loving friend and companion, Catherine Valgora.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda K. Ludwig.
Friends will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Belle Vernon/Rostraver Township (724-929-7934) www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com where a Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Richard Klein officiating. Interment, with Military honors, will follow in West Newton Cemetery.
