James Albert Orr

James Albert Orr, 92, of Belle Vernon/Washington Township, died Friday, November 15, 2024. Born in Canonsburg on March 24, 1932, he was the son of the late William H. and Gertrude (Anthony) Orr. 

Jim graduated from Peters Township High School, Class of 1950, having served as Class President for all four years. He was a 60-year member and Past Master of the Peters Twp. Grange in Washington County and also served on several county Agricultural Boards.

The Orr Family moved to the Belle Vernon Area in 1956, where they established the "Orr Farm", of which he was a partner until retiring in 2001. Jim was a member of Rehoboth Presbyterian Church in Rostraver. 

He is survived by his sister-in-law, Florence Orr; nephews, William J. (Elizabeth) Orr and Robert B. (Elaine) Orr; niece-in-law, Lisa Zumbro; grand nieces, LeAnn (Clinton) Covey and Rachel (Jay) Maxson; grand nephews, James R. Orr, Jeffrey J. (Jennifer) Orr, Craig A. (Sadie) Orr and Brian A. (Jillian) Orr; great- grand nieces and nephews, Penelope and Felicity Covey, Beckett, Rozlynn and Jarreth Orr, Jaxon, Molly and Emory Orr, Gabrielle and Nora Maxson, Lilly and Cooper Orr.  

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a niece, Kathleen Sue Orr in 1962; and a brother, W. Robert Orr in 2017. 

He also leaves behind great friends in this area and many former winter neighbors of Paradise Park in Pharr, Texas. All who knew him, locally and elsewhere, respectfully called him 'Uncle Jim'.

Friends will be received on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township (724-929-7934) www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com where a Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. with Pastor 

Donald T. Glunt officiating. Interment will follow in Rehoboth Cemetery.  

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions, in memory of James A. Orr, can be made to Rehoboth Presbyterian Church.
