Janet L. Sorton

Janet L. Wiles Sorton, 87, of Elizabeth Township, died at home on Sunday, August 6, 2017. Born in Webster on August 5, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Katherine (Smith) Wiles.
Janet worked in the laundry service at the Youghiogheny Country Club. She was an avid bingo player, loved playing at The Meadows, and loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Frank Sorton; children, Frank (Alice) Sorton of Collinsburg, Penny (Rocky) Richardson of New Eagle, Vicki Sorton Tyron of Elizabeth, Cindy (Ken "Punkin") McManus of Sutersville, Candy (Bill) Meyers of Sutersville, Geri Williams of Elizabeth, and Howie (Lisa) Sorton of Elizabeth; 18 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; brother, Lester (Esther) Wiles of TX; sister, Betty Wiles of GA; sister-in-law, Jenny Richter of Elizabeth; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Larry J. Sorton; brothers, David Wiles and Howard Burke; and sister, Charlotte Patrick.
Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Belle Vernon/Rostraver Township (724-929-7934) www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com where a Funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Diane Hobson officiating. Interment will follow in Round Hill Cemetery.
