John Paul Beres, 87, passed peacefully on Thursday, June 2, 2016.
John gave his all to be a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and friend.
He will be deeply missed by his beloved Dorothy, wife of 66 years; his five children, John (Helen), Launie (Don) Trevisani, Jeffrey (Carol Ann), Joel (Mary) and Christopher (Shelly); his 10 grandchildren, and all of his friends and extended family.
John served in World War II as a Sergeant in the Army Air Force in the Philippines and Okinawa.
Born in Webster, PA, long-time resident of Rostraver Twp., and wintering in Clearwater, FL, John lived out his final years with his wife under the compassionate care of the staff at Oakleaf Personal Care Home.
Friends will be received on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Belle Vernon/Rostraver Township (724-929-7934) www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com where a Blessing Service will be held on Monday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in the Church of St. Anne, 1870 Rostraver Road, Belle Vernon, PA with Rev. Vincent J. Gigliotti as celebrant. A private family interment, with Full Military Honors, will be held on Tuesday in West Newton Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made for the Activities Fund at Oakleaf PCH, 3800 Oakleaf Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15227.
