John Richard "Rich" Delsandro

John Richard “Rich” Delsandro, 79, of Rostraver Township, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2025 in Cambridge, Wisconsin. He was surrounded by love and care during his final days. Born in Pittsburgh on May 6, 1945, he was the son of the late J. Alfonse and Dolomita Dora (Porreca) Delesandro. After his mother`s passing, Rich`s father remarried and he was raised by his beloved mother, Norma (Barone) Delsandro and father.

Rich was very proud of his Italian heritage. He was the devoted husband of the late Carolyn “Lynne” (Varosky) Delsandro and the proud father of Chris Delsandro (Elizabeth), Dominic Delsandro, and the late Daniel Delsandro. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Izaak and Claire, and his siblings: Ron Delsandro (Maria), Bob Delsandro (Jan), and MaryAnn Beresh (Bill), along with their families.

A dedicated and hard-working man, Rich enjoyed a long career with the J.C. Penney Company, where he served as a merchandiser and store manager. He took pride in his work and was respected by all who knew him.

Outside of his professional life, Rich had many passions that brought him joy. In his younger years, he enjoyed date night with wife, Lynne, playing golf with his brothers, Ron and Bob, and sharing time with his brother-in-law, Gene Varosky and his good friend, Bob Fuhrman. He was an avid fan of trivia and history, and his love for the Pittsburgh Steelers ran deep. He enjoyed collecting coins, playing pool, finding the perfect wines for family dinners, and grilling and chilling with his loved ones. Rich was also known for his love of reading the morning paper and scouring sales ads for the best deals, forever a merchandizer.

Rich`s life was full of love, laughter, and cherished memories. He will be remembered for his kind heart, strong work ethic, and love of family. Special thanks go to his brother, Ron and sister-in-law Maria Delsandro, as well as our cousins, Angelo and Marcia Gioia, and Janice Moneymaker for their unwavering support during the past several years.

Special thanks to Our House assisted living and Brighton Hospice in Wisconsin for the beautiful care they provided Rich in his final days.

Friends will be received on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township (724-929-7934) www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com where a Blessing Service will be held on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in the Church of St. Anne, 1870 Rostraver Road, Rostraver Township with Rev.
