Joseph Charles Sitar, 71, of Monongahela, died Sunday, July 25, 2021. Born in Pittsburgh on May 1, 1950, he was the son of the late Zigmund and Pearl Sitar.
Joseph was a retired coal miner. After his retirement, he was a handyman and landscaper. Catholic by faith, he formerly attended St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in South Park. Joseph was a very faithful supporter of Shriners Hospital for Children and St. Jude Childrens Hospital. He honorably served his country with the U. S. Air Force.
He is survived by his daughter, Amber (Brian) Brown of Mt. Pleasant; step-son, Arthur (Lauren) Nardelli of South Park; granddaughters, Lillian Nardelli, Natalia Nardelli, Evie Brown and Lainey Brown; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his adoptive parents, Zigmund and Pearl Sitar, he was preceded in death by his biological parents, Lillian and James Keener; his brothers, Albert Keener, Raymond Keener and his twin brother, James Sitar.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township (724-929-7934) www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com where a Blessing Service will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. with Seminarians Craig Alexander and David Slusarick officiating. Interment, with Military Honors, will follow in Mon Valley Memorial Park.
