Joseph M. "Joe" Williams

Joseph M. ''Joe'' Williams, 84, of Rostraver Township, passed away Sunday, August 13, 2017, after a tragic fall and Parkinsons, in Grandview Estates of Elizabeth. Born in Belle Vernon on October 8, 1932, he was the son of the late Warren and Clara (Mitchell) Williams.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Warren "Mitch" Williams.
Joe was employed by Firth Sterling, McKeesport early in his career and later with Monessen Southwestern Railway of Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel for 29 years until the mill closed in 1986. He then worked for another 10 years for the Rostraver Township Sewage Authority. Joe and a partner owned and operated a paving business for several years while still working in the mill. He enjoyed his hobbies and was a "Mister Fix It". He was honorably discharged serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Patricia "Pat" Dorman Williams; sons, Douglas A. (Cheryl) Williams Sr. of Carnegie and Craig M. Williams of Belle Vernon; granddaughter, Samone Hall of Monessen; grandsons, Douglas A. (Trish) Williams Jr. of Heidelberg and Daniel T. (Tricia) Williams of Carnegie; great grandchildren; Blake and Avery Williams, Alyssa Changle, Symontie Hall and Jala Lightfoot; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m. in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Belle Vernon/Rostraver Township (724-929-7934) www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com where a Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Sandra Fitzgibbons officiating. Entombment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
