Julia Plevel

Julia Plevel, 88, of Rostraver Township, died Tuesday, August 4, 2015 in Mon Valley Hospital. Born in McKeesport on July 22, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Pida) Solvay.
Julia worked at the former Queen Elizabeth Shoppe in Elizabeth for nearly 50 years. She was a member of the Church of St. Anne in Rostraver Township, Church of St. Anne Christian Mothers, and a former member of the Rostraver Women's Club.
She is survived by her son, David A. (Diana) Plevel of Yorktown, VA; daughter, Tracy L. Plevel of Rostraver Township; sisters, Margaret Nicols of Norcross, GA and Irene Green of Seatle, WA; and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Plevel on December 9, 2008; brothers, Michael and Charles Solvay; and sisters, Mary Skovran, Ann Siudela, Helen Matelan and Paula Solvay.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Belle Vernon/Rostraver Township (724-929-7934) www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com where a Blessing Service will be held 9:30 a.m. Saturday followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in the Church Of St. Anne, 1870 Rostraver Road, Belle Vernon, with Rev. Vincent J. Gigliotti as celebrant. Interment will follow in West Newton Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to St. Sebastian Regional School, 815 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon, PA 15012.
