Justine P. Zorko

April 13, 1917 — September 28, 2020

Justine P. Zorko, 103, of Collinsburg, died Monday, September 28, 2020. Born in Herminie on April 13, 1917, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Dolenc) Pevc.
As a child, Justine immigrated with her parents to Slovenia. Returning to West Newton a few years later, she spoke no English when beginning elementary school. But soon she developed into an exemplary student, excelling in chemistry and language. While she grew to love her new home and culture, she always remained a true Slovenian. She was a life-long member of the SNPJ, read the monthly "Prosveta," and faithfully listened to "The Slovenian Program" every Sunday.
Justine married Frank Joseph Zorko on November 11, 1939. The couple resided in Collinsburg and raised two daughters, Carol and Cheryl. She dedicated her life to her family, making sure their home was filled with love, warmth, and happiness. She liked crossword puzzles, card games, cooking Slovenian meals, traveling with her husband, and was a fifty-five year member of Christ Lutheran Church. She was also a founding member of the Collinsburg Ladies` Auxiliary.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Feick and granddaughter, Shauna; along with nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Frank; daughter Carol; son-in-law John Feick; sisters Mary Hesson and Lillian Figiel; brother Stanley Pevc; and niece Bettsy Lytle.
A sincere thank-you to Stephanie and Rob Short and staff (especially Kim and Jessica) at West Newton`s TLC Adult Care Center, where she resided. Your unwavering devotion and compassion were a blessing for Justine and her family. Also, many thanks to Caring Hospice, which provided immeasurable assistance during her final months.
Private Funeral Services and interment in West Newton Cemetery were entrusted to the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township (724-929-7934) www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com
