Marjorie Overand

Marjorie Clara (Wall) Overand, 93, went home to the Lord she served for so many years on August 26, 2016. She was born at home in Donora on October 20, 1922, to George C. and Laura (Farquhar) Wall, the third of ten children.
As a teenager, Marjorie attended The Gospel Hall in Donora where she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. She was led to the Lord by the ministry of Bob McCracken, a missionary. She was a lifelong follower of the Messiah and had a close relationship and deep love for God. She graduated from Donora Senior High School in January 1941. She married Carl James Overand on July 27, 1941 and moved to Fellsburg, where she resided until she was 90 years old. She and Carl raised five children in Fellsburg: Carol Ann O'Hare, Marjorie Elaine (Norm) Brownstein, Carl James Overand Jr., Richard Alan (Lin) Overand, and Sherry Lynn (George "Jeep") Kyle. Although she moved to California to live with daughter, Carol in 2012, her heart remained with her home church, First Baptist Church of Belle Vernon, where as a member, she remained an active, faithful supporter until her death.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, her parents, five sisters and two brothers.
She is survived by herfive children,seven grandchildren,eight great-grandchildren,three great great-grandchildren,five step-great grandchildren, a sister, a brother, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Friday, September 2, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Belle Vernon/Rostraver Township (724-929-7934) www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com where the Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Ron Malm officiating.
Interment will follow in Fells Cemetery, Rostraver Township.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the First Baptist Church of Belle Vernon, 511 Short Street, Belle Vernon, PA 15012.
