Matthew Krajnak, 79, of Rostraver Township, died Wednesday, September 21, 2016 in AHN Jefferson Hospital. Born in Monessen on January 30, 1937, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Geletka) Krajnak.
Matthew was a retired teacher, having taught at bothThe Art Institute and LaRoche College in Pittsburgh. He was a member of Holy Ascension Serbian Orthodox Church in Youngwood. Both Matt and his wife, Anna, were two of the founding members of St. Basil the Great Russian Orthodox Church in Rostraver Township.
He is survived by his wife, Anna (Labonich) Krajnak; brother-in-law; Michael (Rita) Labonich of West Newton; cousin, John (Tammy) Krajnak of Oakdale; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Friends will be received on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Belle Vernon/Rostraver Township (724-929-7934) www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com where a brief Blessing Service will be held on Monday at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Ascension Serbian Orthodox Church, 24 North Third Street, Youngwood with Rev. Fr. Rumen Stoychev officiating. Interment will follow in West Newton Cemetery.
A Parastas Service will be held in the funeral home on Sunday at 7:00 p.m.
