Melvin Anastasiu

Melvin Joseph Anastasiu, 75, of Elizabeth, died at his home on Friday, September 4, 2015. Born in McKeesport on June 13, 1940, he was the son of the late George and Katherine (Kilger) Anastasiu.
Mel worked for Penn Dot and PJ Dick Corp as a bridge and construction inspector. Some projects included Boot Jack Mountain Bypass of Ridgeway, North Shore Expressway, Shippingport Hill, Southern Expressway and the Boston Bridge. Melvin loved his work and obtained numerous certificates and awards in his jobs. He was a veteran of the U S Army.
Mel was a loving father and grandfather. He is survived by his son, Mel (Jaime) Anastasiu of Penn Township; daughter; Rachael (Doug) Anastasiu of Elizabeth; numerous grandchildren, including Mel & Meela Anastasiu of Penn Township and Mike (Holli) Bradley of White Oak; and two great grandsons.
Funeral services will be held at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville on Friday, September 11, 2015 at 2:30 p.m.
