Norma Jean (Butler) Taylor, 85, of Smithfield went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 in Uniontown Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Webster, PA on November 22, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Rev. William J. and Mary Eva (Staff) Butler.
Norma Jean graduated from Zion Bible Institute, class of 1953. In l957, she married William W. Taylor, who preceded her in death, after 51 years of marriage. Norma was well known for her baking and candy making skills.
She is survived by her brother, William T. (Margaret) Butler of Geneva, OH; nephew, Michael Butler of Geneva, OH; niece, Aimee Butler (Jay Crumb) of Eastlake, OH; and stepson, William R. Taylor of WV.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township (724-929-7934) www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com where a Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Cheryl Dennison, Pastor of the Oak Hill Baptist Church in Smithfield, officiating. Interment will follow in Jacob's Lutheran Cemetery, Masontown.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Oak Hill Baptist Church, 264 Old Frame Road, Smithfield, PA 15478.
