Robert Samuel Wanzilak, 76, of Saxonburg, died Monday, March 23, 2020. Born in Monessen on January 22, 1944, he was the son of the late Samuel and Mary (Tyger) Wanzilak.
After graduating from Monessen High School, Robert received his Bachelor of Science Degreefrom California University of Pennsylvania in Social Studies and a Master of LibraryScience from the University of Pittsburgh.He also received a Master of Arts Degree in Educational Technology from The Catholic University of America in Washington D.C. His many years of experience in a variety of settings included: Head Librarian and Information Resource Leader at Potomac College in Washington D.C.; Head Librarian atCharles County School District; Head Librarian, Martins Ferry Public Library; Founding Librarian, Passaic County Community College; Library Department Head, Shippensburg University; Librarian, St. Marys College of Maryland. He was a member of St. John the Divine Russian Orthodox Church in Monessen.
He is survived by his sister, Evelyn Wanzilak Sedlak and her husband Paul; nephews, Mark Daniel Sedlak and wife Danielle and Matthew Paul Sedlak and wife Charlene; great nieces and great nephews, Mark Sedlak II, Alexis Sedlak, Jonathan Sedlak, Mary Sedlak, Sarah Sedlak, Matthew Sedlak and Emily Sedlak.
A Private Family Funeral Service was held in St. John The Divine Orthodox Church in Monessen with Very Reverend Constantine Curchin officiating. Interment followed in Grandview Cemetery.
