Sam Sims

Sam R. Sims, 73, of Belle Vernon/Rostraver Township, died at home on Friday, February 10, 2017. Born in Charleroi on November 1, 1943, he was the son of the late Daniel W. and Florence (Fox) Sims.
Sam worked for Continental Can in Homestead for 12 years and then worked at Supervalu until his retirement. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing and hunting; later in life, he enjoyed riding his bicycle on the Yough River Trail.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene (Stants) Sims; daughters, Helen Sims Sitar of Monongahela and Jeannette Sims Olinzock of Perryopolis; grandson, Jacob Repasky of Forward Township.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Ronnie Lee Sims.
Friends will be received on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Belle Vernon/Rostraver Township (724-929-7934) www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com where a Funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 12:00 Noon with Rev. Edward Truitt officiating.
Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
