Sylvia (Bradley) Drew, 78, of Rostraver Township, died Sunday, May 16, 2021. Born in Pittsburgh on September 15, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Sylvester and Julia Frances (Opatkiewicz) Bradley.
Sylvia was a cancer warrior who bravely and courageously fought her disease until she could not any longer. She was affectionately known by many as Mama Syl and was well-known and loved for her one-of-a-kind spunky personality, her sense of humor, and her ability to strike up a conversation and make a friend anywhere she went. She passionately dedicated her life to the career of nursing, and spent her work years in the service of helping others in their times of need. In her spare time, she was a lifelong knitter and lover of all things yarn. She was a Mon Valley girl through-and-through, and loved to reminisce and spin yarns about days gone by with family and friends.
She is survived by her dearly treasured companion of 25 years, George Lach (and their cherished yorkiepoo, Rosie) and they had many precious memories together of car shows, doo-wop concerts, RV camping in the Laurel Mountains, and beach vacations to their favorite place, Wildwood NJ. She is also survived by three children, Linda (Eric) Woods, Juliann (Chad) Pushnack and Reymond Drew. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Michael (Kylie) Sedunov, Jr., Craig Sedunov, Hope (Jonathan) Gwaley and Robert (Bianca) Philipp III. She is lastly survived by her dear great-grandson, Finley Gwaley, and two great-grandchildren, Baby Sedunov and Baby Philipp, who she will watch over when they arrive later on this year.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Robert Bubbs Philipp, Jr.
She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
