Thomas Andrew Budd Sr.

Thomas Andrew Budd, Sr., 82, of West Newton, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, January 28, 2025. Born in Rostraver Township on August 29, 1942, he was the son of the late Harold B. and M. Esther (Timms) Budd.

Tom was the youngest of five children and spent most of his life as a resident of Rostraver Township. He grew up on the Budd farm, a family farm in the Cedar Creek region, and later spent some of his twilight years in Florida. He was the sole proprietor of T.A. Budd Trucking and logged over five million miles on the road. As a devoted Methodist, he lived his life with faith, compassion, and a commitment to serving others. He found strength in his beliefs and joy in sharing God`s love through acts of kindness and generosity. His unwavering faith was a guiding light, shaping his character and inspiring all who knew him.

Tom had a love for tending to his massive garden, spending time in his garage and restoring antique cars. He had a deep passion for tractors, locomotives and steam engines. Following his retirement, he enjoyed traveling with The Crown Victoria Association and various other car clubs that shared his enthusiasm for classic automobiles. He also took great pride in his meticulously maintained yard, his lush green lawn and immaculate landscaping substantiating his dedication and care.

Everyone who knew Tom recognized his vast knowledge, love for Rostraver, and most of all, love for his family. He was a charter member of the Rostraver Historical Society and took great pride in tracing his family lineage back to the first Budd Families, who immigrated to the Americas centuries ago.

Tom was a devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather who never missed an opportunity to educate his children and grandchildren on their family history. He was always there to lend a hand, offer guidance and share his wisdom. More than just a father and grandfather, he was a second father to his grandchildren providing a steady presence, a guiding hand and a source of unconditional love. His legacy will live on through all who knew him and his kindness, wisdom, and devotion to family will never be forgotten.

A man of deep tradition and community involvement, Tom was a member of Tri-County Lodge No. 252 F&AM Donora, Coudersport Consistory and the Oddfellows, embodying the values of brotherhood, service and integrity throughout his life.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Judith L. Budd, whom he cherished and loved deeply; his brothers, Benjamin and James Budd; and infant grandson Cameron Budd.

Later in life, Tom was blessed to find love again with his wife, Jane Budd, who brought him companionship and joy in his later years.
