Wilfred J. Taylor, 99, of Rostraver Township, died at home on Friday, May 26, 2017. Born in Forward Township on April 6, 1918, he was the son of the late Francis J. and Derwen (Davies) Taylor.
Protestant by faith, Wilfred was retired from Lee-Norse Corporation in Charleroi and was a charter member of the Mon Valley Radio Controllers Club. He served in the US Army Air Corp during World War II with the 14th Air Corp 118th Squadron in the China-Burma-India Theater.
He is survived by his daughters, Nancy (Robert) Sypolt, Diane (Thomas) Scott, and Rebecca (Andrew) Leheny, all of Rostraver Twp. and Laura J. (Brian) Lisovich of Belle Vernon; grandchildren, Sean Sypolt, Ryan Sypolt, Robert Sypolt, Tavya Robinson, Sarah McDougle, Annie Scott, Noah Leheny, Jaclyn Naylor and Jared Adametz; and 16 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Wilfred was preceded in death by his wife, Lois H. Taylor on October 28, 2012; son and daughter-in-law, Roy J. and Casilda Taylor; sisters, Derwen Rebecca Finley and Jane Wells; and brother, Roy E. Taylor.
Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Belle Vernon/Rostraver Township (724-929-7934) www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com where a Funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Kent Lighthall officiating. Interment, with Military Honors, will follow in Round Hill Cemetery.
